Miracle of Mindfulness: Nourishing Happiness 2017
Children and Teenagers Programme
We will provide youngsters with a joyful introduction to Plum Village practices appropriate for their age group and an opportunity to build relationships with young monks and nuns. Of course they will also have plenty of time to have fun with each other in all the usual ways that children and young people enjoy.
We will offer programmes of activities geared for children aged 5-9 years, 10-12 years and Teens 13-18 years, to cover the main retreat events in the morning and afternoon. There will also be some evening activities for the older children. For the under 5s a play space and activities will be available during morning and afternoon sessions, led by volunteers and supported by parents on a rota basis.
As children all grow and develop at different rates there can be a little flexibility in which group your child will be happiest. The first 15 – 20 minutes of the morning dharma talk will be given especially for the children, and then they leave the dharma hall for their own programme.
This programme will be led and run in accordance with our Child Protection Policy. Please note that children under 18 years must be accompanied on the retreat by their parent or another adult who has responsibility for them.
For information on booking, pricing, payment, financial or any other questions please see our FAQs.
Parents please note:
- if you are booking for yourself and one child please ensure you book a twin room and not a dormitory, unless you are intending to share with other people. If this is the case, please let us know their names on your booking form.
- If you are booking for more than two people (i.e. 2 or more adults and a child, or 1 adult and 2 or more children) please make sure you book a dormitory. We cannot accommodate more than 2 people in a twin room. We are sorry that there are no en-suite dormitories at the venue.
- If you are booking an en-suite room please ensure you also make an en-suite booking for your child.
